Privacy Policy

Last updated 29 October 2026

This explains what Stars & Scars collects about you, who else sees it, and how to have it deleted.

Who is responsible

If you want anything on this page acted on, or you just have a question, email [email protected].

STARS & SCARS SEATON, 5023 SA, AUSTRALIA

What is collected

• Your date, time and place of birth

• Your name, or the name you choose for your reading

• Your answers, and anything else you write into the site

• Your email address

It is used to work out your chart and create what you bought, and for nothing else. It is kept until you ask for it to be deleted.

Who else sees your data

Only the services needed to make the thing you bought:

• The astrology service we use: receives your birth date, time and place, and works out your chart and, where a reading uses it, your Human Design.

• Stripe: payment processing.

• The email provider we use: sends what arrives in your inbox.

• The email marketing tool we use: only if you are added to the mailing list, and only your email address.

• Google Places: suggests your city as you type it. Google sees what you type into that one field.

• The cloud hosting platform we use: hosts the site and the database.

• Meta (Facebook and Instagram): receives which pages you looked at here and whether you bought. In the UK and the EU this only happens if you accept it. See Cookies and advertising below.

Your data is never sold or rented. The only use of it for advertising is the one described under Cookies and advertising.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of everything held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. You can withdraw from the mailing list at any time from any email.

Email [email protected]. There is no form and no ticket number. Requests are answered within 30 days, usually much sooner.

Payment details

Card payments are handled entirely by Stripe. Your card number never reaches this site and is never stored here. Stripe tells us only that a payment succeeded, and gives us the email address you used at checkout. Stripe has its own privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.

Cookies and advertising

This site runs the Meta pixel, a small piece of code from Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram. It tells Meta which pages you looked at here and whether you bought something, so that money spent advertising Stars & Scars can be judged against what it actually produced. It sets two cookies of Meta’s own, named _fbp and _fbc, and if you have a Facebook or Instagram account Meta can connect what it sees here to it.

When a purchase goes through, the same sale is reported to Meta a second time from the server, because a report from a browser often does not arrive. That one carries your email address hashed (sent as a one-way code rather than the address itself, though Meta can match that code against an account it already holds), along with your IP address and which browser you used.

Apart from the pixel, the only things stored in your browser are what is needed to keep you moving through the site, to keep the admin area locked, and to count visits to its pages. That count has no name or email address in it.

If you are in the UK or the EU, none of this happens until you say yes. You are asked on your first visit, the pixel stays off while you decide, and off for good if you decline. Wherever you are, you can change it here:

Age

Stars & Scars is for adults. Please do not use it if you are under 18.
